We are so excited to announce the first ever Candlelight concert in the newly renovated market building!  In a joint collaboration between the Cadillac Community Foundation, Downtown Cadillac, Jam and Bread and Gopherwood we are pleased to present The Antivillains with special guest Nick Veine!

Hailing from Toledo Ohio, our friends from the rust belt are no strangers to our area!  Earthworks fans will remember them from their sets at the famous Lake City Festival for years.  Celebrating over 20 years of creating music, their sound can be described as cloudy and breezy with a dreamy Americana indie pop influence.   Nick Veine is a classically trained musician who has performed at several events and festival over the past few years as well.

Combining these 2 musical acts into one performance not only highlights the talent of these extraordinary musicians, it also brings awareness to the importance of music education.  Nick Veine is a member of the music non profit Music Sparks Meaning out of Manistee Mi which is also associated with the Forest Trails Music Festival.  The Antivillains themselves are an impressive group of music educators as well.  Sam Woldenberg and Ben Cohen are the creative forces behind Dream Louder Productions as well as the dynamic group Heavy Color.  Guitarist Graham Parsons runs the music non profit The Dan Schmitt Gift of Music out of Kalamazook, Mi. and his family hosts the annual festival Farm Block in the Keewanau Peninsula every year to raise funds for their music education programs.  Lucas Madrazo teaches at the Toledo School of Art and Sam and Ben work with incarcerated and special needs youth as well.  An absolute dream combination for youth music education under the market roof.  For one night, we’ll be connected from Kalamazoo to Keweenaw.

What makes this event truly special is that not only will the music be epic, but throughout the day we will be celebrating various Ukrainian arts displayed in the market with demonstrations from some amazing artisans.  Caps crew students, Up North Arts workshop participants, the Senior Center, 4-H/AmeriCorps/MSU along with home school students, will all have their Ukrainian art projects displayed as well with the highlight being the Ukranian Vinoks and Psanky Eggs.  March 21 mark your calendars and come out to support this very special event as we celebrate the arts in Cadillac. While we are not charging admission for this event, we sure do appreciate your donations!
